Write Here, Write Now: Introduction to Creative Writing (New Dates: MAY)

Do you want to write creatively but don't know where to start or how to keep yourself motivated to finish a piece? Join me for a four-week series to learn skills to improve your writing. Each week, I'll introduce you to a different aspect of craft, and you'll have opportunities to practice what you learn in easy-to-follow exercises. You'll have pieces of writing to take home after each session. Bring something to write on and write with. Some writing materials will be provided. One: Point of View Two: Character Three: Setting (Time and Place) Four: Shaping Your Work Five: Write, Write, and Write Again This series is designed as a full course. It's strongly suggested that you attend all classes so you can get the most out of it. The course is structured in a way that you can also drop in for a single session. - No creative writing experience necessary. Participants can bring something to write with and write on.
About the artist
Todd is a Sāmoan storyteller, creative writing teacher, and programme manager from Aotearoa New Zealand, now based in Berlin. He completed a Masters of Creative Writing at the University of Auckland in 2016, and his work has appeared in the Academy of New Zealand Literature, Aotearoa New Zealand Review of Books, The Three Lamps literary journal, first page journal, and at ZK/U. Over the past 15 years, he has developed and delivered learning programmes for children, adults, families, refugees, BIPOC, and queer communities in Aotearoa, Australia, and Siamani (Germany).
