Visual Explorations Through Screenprinting

How can you explore artistically and visually through the art of screen-printing? Did you always wonder if there’s more to screenprinting other than printing single - coloured stamps on a T-shirt? Did you ever want to create an art work through screenprinting but never had the chance to get your hands on a screen and some ink or you always thought it was way too complicated for you? This 5 week intensive course guides you through a fully hands-on process on different ways to playfully create art works through the silkscreen and how to transform your ideas and designs into multilayered - multicoloured prints on paper and fabric. This workshop is ideal for artists, designers, illustrators and individuals who want to explore screen-printing in a raw playful and original form through multiple variations that can broaden your perception of colour, proportions and composition as well as acquaint you with multiple screen-printing techniques and poster creation. Throughout the course there is going to be print making in every class as well as presentations on the political history of screen-printing, contemporary usage, contemporary artists and basic techniques on Photoshop and Illustrator that will help you translate your ideas into beautiful and meaningful prints. The goal of this course is to create a small but solid portfolio by the end of 5 weeks with all the basic knowledge of screen-printing, digital editing programs and the various forms of prints that go along. It will help you be playful around inks, paper, poster designing & making, typography, collage, fabrics and patterns and general experimentation and exploration of the above.

- What should I bring?
- No previous experience needed and we will provide all the materials required -with very few exceptions that can be sourced easily and cheaply (e.g. magazines, fabrics.)
About the artist
Eri Angelopoulos (they/them) was born and raised in Athens, Greece. They live and work in Berlin since 2023. They work and are active in multiple fields as a visual artist, tattoo artist, security, bartender, bar manager, stage manager, artist liaison, events manager, planner and producer. Main mediums in their creative practice are video, poetry, sculpture, photography, graphic design, painting, screen-printing and multidisciplinary installations. Nippun (he/they) is a visual artist from New Delhi, now based in Berlin. Nippun works at the intersection of art, design and culture – the space where they feel most at home. With seven years of experience spanning architectural design, digital art, illustration, animation, and event curation, their work explores human perception and curates meaningful visual experiences.
