Upcycling I – Textile Exploration & Creative Language

With Ika Abigayll, Warrior Babe

Upcycling I – Textile Exploration & Creative Language

This course introduces upcycling as a creative and expressive language. Participants explore how clothing can be transformed into personal and symbolic pieces through storytelling, collage, embroidery, bleaching, painting, and garment alteration. The workshop combines hands-on textile techniques with conceptual exercises, encouraging participants to reflect on identity, sustainability, and the social impact of fashion. Rather than focusing on perfection or finished results, the course emphasizes experimentation, process, and developing confidence in making. Participants are guided through a series of techniques that can later be combined freely, allowing each person to discover their own visual and material language. The course is open to beginners and anyone curious about working with textiles as a form of artistic expression.
