Sound, Video and Light for Public Interventions
With abstraqt
This workshop is about using immaterial time-based media, such as light, sound, video, or performance art in public interventions as tools for protest, invitation to reflection, disruption, or meditation. The course will be structured around collaborative projects, that the participants will do in groups. Examples of such projects include a large-scale video mapping on the facade of 90mil, a sonic intervention with an orchestra of bluetooth speakers, portable light installations and projections. Familiarity with sound, video and light would be helpful, but not required. Sculptors, performers, writers, activists, and practitioners of any other media are warmly invited to participate. - What should I bring?
- Familiarity with sound, video, light is helpful, but not required. Curiosity to participate in public interventions is expected. Previous experience would be beneficial for the whole group.
About the artist
abstraqt is a multimedia body that inhabits physical and digital spaces. In its practice it searches for and builds relations between humans, communities, media, as well as between art and activism. Deeply reliant on digital tools, abstraqt’s work is an act of extension of physical environments. It creates spaces where new forms of within-technological spirituality emerge. Multimedia by nature, abstraqt’s installations, live performances and curated events let sound, image, light, space and body move as parts of one organism.
