Rivers of Light: Analog Live Visuals
With Via
In this four-week course, participants will be introduced to Via's artistic practice and her analog-digital approach to creating live visuals using water, oils, pigments and real-time projection. Drawing inspiration from 1970s liquid light shows, marbling, suminagashi and ecological thinking, participants will explore how light, matter and movement can become performative tools. Throughout the course, each participant will gradually develop their own visual language and create a short live visual performance. The course combines technical experimentation, artistic references and project development, culminating in a final presentation where each participant performs a 5-minute live visual piece accompanied by a song of their choice. No previous experience is required. Participants will: -Learn analog live visual techniques -Understand the historical references behind the practice -Develop their own visual language -Introduction to Resolume Arena software -Learn how to compose visuals in real time -Create and present an original short performance

About the artist
Via (1998) is a transdisciplinary artist based between São Paulo and Berlin. Her work is focused on ecological interactions, exploring the interconnectedness between human and non-human beings. She expresses her critical thoughts through video art, live performances and installations. The artist holds a bachelor's degree in Fashion Design from the State University of Santa Catarina and has training in Art Therapy from the Metáfora school. Via has participated in residencies at Lios Labs, Błędów Desert, Poland (2022) and The Palace, Gorzanów Castle, Poland (2024). Her work has been showcased at the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro (2022), Light Box Gallery (2020), Brazilia's Planetariun (2025), SESI Lab (2025), Museu Ciência e Vida (2025). She has also participated in various arts festivals worldwide such as SSA Mapping (2021/2023), Minute Mapp (2024), Festa da Luz (2024) among others. Via has presented fulldome audiovisual works at Zeiss-Großplanetarium (2025), Immershpere (2025), and Rock the Mountain (2023). Alongside her artistic practice, the artist has also developed educational and community based projects, including live animation workshops for children and teenagers in rural communities in Chapada Diamantina, Brazil
