Precarious Pleasures - movement research and dance improvisation

This workshop approaches dance as a space for rehearsing precarious states through improvisation and embody solidarity within human and more than human world. Through grounding somatic practices, contact improvisation, touch, and instant composition, we explore how to allow ourselves to be affected by one another - with joy, care and connection. As ecological and political collapse is no longer a distant scenario, we ask: What happens when we truly listen? How can we take care of one another in these times? How can we create 'tight entanglements' as a state of connection? We practice reciprocal relationality — moving from consent, responsiveness, and mutual attention. Care becomes something we build together: in the way we enter a room, offer support, withdraw, witness, and choose. How can we relate to crises happening elsewhere while being rooted where we are? This workshop invites us to stay porous, to stay connected, and to cultivate embodied practices of care. Precarious Pleasures is a program that has been researching the intersections of queer feminism and improvisational practices since 2023.

- What should I bring?
- Comfy clothes to move, pen and notebook, some snacks for the break. There is no prior knowledge needed. First experience with spaces of embodiment/movement is helpful but not necessary.
About the artist
Katze (she/they) My work connects improvisational practices with embodied social justice and focusses on creating transformative, permeable dance spaces that allow trust and pleasure in order to navigate through complexity. I hold a Master Degree in Performance Studies and studied dance at TIP Freiburg.
