Drag up your life!
With Talith / Lilith the Quing
Drag is one of the most transdisciplinary and complete art forms there are. You can do anything and infuse any practice in it. It's also punk af to play with gender and other possibilities of being. It's also an incredible tool to get to know yourself better, explore gender and identities and have fun. The idea is to play and don't take it too seriously. Even if you want to get professional with it, drag needs to be something we enjoy doing with all our souls and bodies. Maybe you have an artistic practice and want to dragify it, maybe a weird talent, or something you love doing, but don't have an artistic outlet for it. Maybe you "just" want to explore a different gender or bring a character to life... If any of these resonate with you, please join in! The course will have 4 sessions with different themes: character creation, makeup, drag your talents, creating a performance. You can join all of them or just one. You can have some experience, or none. Any kinds of drag can be explored, so bring your interests, any makeup and costumes you might have, and come play!

About the artist
Talith (they/them) is a Brazilian transdisciplinary artist based in Berlin. They are, above anything, a storyteller and they use different media to shape their stories, fusing them through drag. Talith embodies many characters such as Lilith the Quing, Ken Marroska and Miss Verständniss and has been working as a performer, artist and producer since 2020 in Berlin, being active in collectives like Venus Boys, fluid.vision, Magic Dyke and BRag Kultur. Since they started, they have been contributing a lot to the vibrant queer artistic scene of Berlin, Brazil and beyond. Talith just finished with the maximum grade in their thesis about drag as an embodied way to research gender at Freie Universität Berlin and keeps developing research on how drag can be a tool for self-knowledge, playing with gender beyond the binary and other possibilities of existence and utopias, from a queer decolonial perspective.
